This site in short
This site is an automated calculator for anyone who wants to know what a piece of gold is worth by weight, based on the current world price. That includes people sorting an inherited chain, comparing an old ring against a quote, checking a scrap parcel before a trip to a dealer, or simply curious what the metal in a drawer is worth in local currency.
What the calculator does
You enter the weight and choose the purity, and it converts the result into your local units using the live world price. Every figure on the page is metal value calculated from the world price, not a shop quote. Dealers add their own margin, deductions and fees, so a real offer will usually differ from what you see here.
What it does not do
- It does not buy, sell, hold or value gold for sale.
- It does not quote dealer prices or promise any offer.
- It does not give investment advice or predict where the price will go.
- It does not appraise jewellery, stones or craftsmanship, which sit outside metal value.
How the site is paid for
The calculator is free to use. Running costs are covered by a sponsored link to a broker, clearly marked as sponsored. That link has no influence on the calculation.
Editorial independence
The calculation follows the world price and the purity you select, nothing else. No sponsor, advertiser or partner can change the formula, the units or the result shown to you.
